Is it cold out on the lake?

Generally speaking, during May, June and the first half of July, the temperature on the lake is 10-20 degrees cooler than on the mainland. We recommend that you dress in layers.

Do we go inside of the Copper Harbor Lighthouse?

Yes! Both lighthouse buildings (the dwelling & lighthouse proper) are open with informational exhibits throughout the entire property.

How long are the Copper Harbor Lighthouse tours?

There is no time limit while touring the Copper Harbor Lighthouse, once the boat arrives the dock passengers are welcome to spend as much time as they would like on the grounds and simply catch the next boat back to the mainland.

Can we book online & do we need to book in advance?

All reservations can be made by calling the Bella Vista Motel or visiting our front office in Copper Harbor, MI located inside the Bella Vista Motel. Most reservations are made day of since we are weather dependent, but if you prefer to book prior to your trip give us a call!
